Without having any relation with the external world, in the lap of the forest, 'giri shikara' region people are leading a complete difference. Their lifestyle is so different from ours. Their marriage rituals are also different. There will be no priest, no invitations to the marriage, still, the whole village will attend the wedding.

Konda reddis group of people follow a unique style of wedding.Most of the konda reddis live in Butayagudem,polevaram,veredupadu of west godavari district.nearly 1.2 lakhs are tribal people are living in the west godavari district among them nearly 10k people belongs to the Konda reddis group.

There marriage rituals and procedure is quite interesting. Few rules and procedures were set in 1980 regarding marriages. As time changes, few changes also made in their rituals. In 1980 if a boy likes a girl he used to hold her hand and announces publicly that he wants to marry her. village people used to do marriage for them no matter if the girl likes that boy or not. But now they made few changes. Now If a boy likes a girl, the boy will go to his parents and informs them. Their parents will go and talk to the girl family. If they agree then family members will act as priest and conduct their marriage. They will pour a bucket full of water on bride and bridegroom, by this there marriage is over. Next bridegroom will put a chain of black beads called 'nalla pusala golusu' on the bride. Then they are officially married.

Few interesting games will also be there at the wedding. As a part of it, there will be a program called 'pathalanu'. In that, the bride family will hide the bride, it's the task of the groom to find her.
The marriage festival will continue for 5 days. In the first 3 days, families of both bride and bridegroom will arrange dinner for the whole village. Non-veg is compulsory in that feast. After 3 days, family members will arrange the First night for the couple on the fourth day. The feast on the fourth day is called 'oorabanthi'.on the fifth day also both families arrange a party for the villagers. Likes this the wedding festival will be celebrated for 5 days. Anyway, to the people like us who are living a mechanical life, this type of 5 days marriage will be a little interesting
