After 27 years of marriage, Bill and Melinda Gates declared their divorce, which stunned the world. On May 3, the pair declared that they were divorcing in a joint statement. The microsoft co-founder was spotted for the first time with daughter Jennifer Gates, who posted a photo of their "quality time" on instagram after their divorce. On thursday, Bill was seen in a cute photo with his eldest daughter. Jennifer posted a snapshot of herself and Bill laughing big as they posed together on Instagram. Jennifer said, "Nothing better than quality time with family members," in response to the same. Jennifer made sure to prove that she was happy to be spending time with her family by adding a smiley face emoji to it.

Jennifer had previously shared a photo with her mum, Melinda Gates while wishing her a happy Mother's Day. In a throwback photo with her brothers, sister Phoebe, 18, and brother Rory, 21, to commemorate Mother's Day, Gates' daughter referred to her mother as "Queen" and "Hero."Jennifer had commented on her parents' divorce on instagram, writing, "It's been a challenging stretch of time for our whole family." At this time, I'm still learning how to best support my own process and emotions, as well as those of my family members, and I'm grateful for the space to do so. I won't personally comment further on anything around the separation, but please know that your kind words and support mean the world to me." Despite their decision to end their marriage, Bill and Melinda Gates have stated that they will remain co-chairs of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and continue to work together.
