In Ms. Marvel episode 2, Marvel once more disregarded Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and her selfless act. While the Disney+ series is primarily concerned with retelling Kamala Khan's origin tale, it also makes numerous allusions to the larger universe to which it belongs. Iman Vellani made her acting debut in the series as Kamala Khan. The second episode of Ms. Marvel makes a more subdued but disparaging reference to natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, following the inclusion of AvengerCon in episode 1.

Kamala, a 16-year-old from Jersey, acquires superpowers after receiving a mystery bangle from her equally enigmatic grandmother. By focusing on the character's coming-of-age tale, Marvel Studios has done a fantastic job thus far of setting Ms. Marvel apart from other Disney+ programmes. She is also a huge lover of the Avengers, especially Captain Marvel, which is what makes her so distinctive (Brie Larson). Ms. Marvel has intentionally degraded some of those characters by drawing a connection to them, even though the programme is designed to praise everything Avengers as a reflection of Kamala's passion to them.

In Ms. Marvel episode 2, Kamala explores her unique skills with the aid of her best buddy Bruno after gaining new abilities at AvengerCon (Matt Lintz). They climb a rooftop to test "hardlight" at one point, but because she doesn't understand how it works, she falls. Fortunately, Bruno catches her. You have to let me go, Kamala says as she hangs off the side of the building, echoing Black Widow's last words to Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) on Vormir in Avengers: Endgame and her final words in the MCU's overall chronology. The difference is that natasha falls to her death while Kamala only rises five feet above the earth.
