Nobel prize 2022: How did the Nobel prize start?

Nobel prize is considered the most prestigious award and honour in the world. It is announced every year in the month of October. Awards are announced in six different categories over six days. Mainly scientists, writers, economists and human rights people are honoured for their phenomenal contributions. Along with this award, 9 lakh dollars i.e. about 7.35 crore rupees are also given.

Rabindra Nath Tagore, Amartya Sen, CV Raman, Har Gobind Khorana, Mother Teresa, Subramanian Chandrasekhar, abhijit banerjee and Kailash Satyarthi has been honoured with this award in India. This award is given in the categories of Physics, Chemistry, Physiology and Medicine, Economics, Literature and Peace. 

How did the Nobel prize start?

Alfred Nobel was a famous Swedish industrialist. He is known for the discovery of explosives like dynamite. The Nobel prize is given in the name and memory of alfred Nobel. The special thing is that the money given for this award is also related to alfred Nobel. alfred Nobel died in the year 1896 but the first Nobel Prizes were given in the year 1901.

Alfred Nobel was a very wealthy businessman. He had prepared his will before his death. The outline of the Nobel Prizes and the money for it were arranged in the will itself. alfred Nobel's money has been deposited in a Swedish bank. It is managed by the Nobel Foundation. The amount to be given for these awards is arranged only from the interest received from this money kept in the bank.

Alfred Nobel regretted inventing dynamite

When dynamite was discovered by alfred Nobel, the work of breaking rocks in the field of mining was very difficult. Nobel was proud of his invention. He was confident that this would revolutionize the field of mining. The same thing happened. But soon after the wrong use of dynamite started wreaking havoc in the world. alfred Nobel used to regret this very much. In the last days of his life, alfred Nobel tried to 'atone for his sins' by announcing the Nobel Prizes.
