Prime minister Narendra Modi on wednesday said that the knowledge of the english language is not a standard for a person to be intellectual. It is also a medium of mutual communication like other languages. The prime minister launched the state government's new initiative 'Mission school of Excellence' in the Adalaj town of Gandhinagar district of Gujarat. He told the students, there was a time when not being able to speak in english was a hindrance. english knowledge was considered a sign of intellectual being. Many talented children from rural areas missed out on becoming doctors and engineers simply because they did not have a command over the language.

The prime minister expressed hope that the New education Policy (NEP) will end the 'slavery thinking' associated with the english language in the country. He advocated the use of local languages. He said, now the time has changed. Now the youth are getting the option of studying in another language to become a doctor-engineer. Our effort is to ensure that the children of poor parents who cannot study in english medium can also become doctor-engineers. We want to ensure that no one is left behind due to a lack of english language.

How 'Mission school of Excellence' will be?

The prime minister said, in the last two decades in Gujarat, the state government has opened 1.25 lakh, new classes, along with recruiting 2 lakh teachers. Schools had already installed television sets in 15,000 classrooms 10 years ago. Today television sets were already installed in 1 crore students and 4 lakh school classrooms. Today, about one crore students and four lakh school teachers are registering their attendance online through online mediums.

The prime minister said that in the 'Mission school of Excellence', the state government will build 50,000 new classrooms, while the existing 1 lakh classes will be converted into smart classrooms with 5g technology. He said, with this, teachers will be able to give real-time education to many schools simultaneously in villages also in an online way. Also, in this mission, students will be taught subjects like robotics along with preparing for competitive exams from a young age.
