The YSR Congres Party made a demand to election commission to transfer DGP of Andhra Pradesh RP Thakur so that he will not be used in election duties. The party has accused the DGP of supporting TDP government and filed a complaint with Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora.

YSRCP requested that April 11 elections must be held in fair manner and that the Central Election Commission must take essential steps for this. YSRCP said that the DGP was biased to TDP and cited how opposition leaders were harassed by police as per ruling party orders and also the re-appointment of two retired IPS officials T Yoganand and Madhav Rao from Intelligence departments.

 


They also requested transfer of the DIG Ghattamaneni Srinivas and quoted that Intelligence DG AB Venkateswara Rao still interferes in election and police affairs despite complaints against him. YSRCP also mentioned police department run by casteist officers and also requested on appointing observers at DGP office on Election Day.
