BCCI is actively taking steps to appoint a new selection committee for the indian cricket team. The chetan Sharma-led selection team, which has been in place since 2019, has won two World Cups and one ICC Test championship final in three series. As a result, the bcci removed the team. The move comes after seven captains were changed in a single year and bumrah was made to play in the australia series before the t20 World Cup.

This means that ex-players below the age of 60 should have played at least 7 international Tests or 30 Domestic Test cricket or 10 One Day Internationals or 20 Domestic ODIs for the indian team. The bcci announced that the persons applying for the panel for another qualification test must have retired from cricket five years before.
