The supreme court dissolved the hyderabad Cricket Association on tuesday and ordered that new elections be held for the association, which came as a huge shock to former indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin. Despite the fact that the terms of the present association members ended in september of last year, Azharuddin has remained as the HCA president. He has been rebuffing calls to hold new elections while holding onto his position.

The hyderabad Cricket Association elections will be started and overseen by retired judge Justice Lavu nageswara rao, who was nominated by the supreme court with a request by the association's members for their full support. A supreme court bench made consisting of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Manoj Misra, and aravind Kumar ordered that new elections be held fairly in an effort to break the deadlock surrounding the HCA elections.

"We believe that the deadlock must be broken so that a free election can be held. This court believes that retired judge Justice nageswara rao would be an appropriate choice to lead a one-member committee to resolve this problem, the court ruled. "He can accept any aid that is required. The association will be responsible for paying the costs. The matter may be brought before us for the specific purpose, if the learned judge needs some guidance from this court, according to the order.
