Kia Seltos Review: See the review of the new Kia Seltos facelift diesel automatic, good power with strong mileage.
The ex-showroom price of the Seltos diesel automatic is less than Rs 20 lakh and although it is not as fun as the turbo petrol or iMT models, the diesel automatic is an excellent long-range cruiser.
Kia Seltos diesel Automatic
Seltos is Kia's best-selling car and is also the company's best model to date, but the SUV was significantly updated this year with a new turbo petrol powertrain. As everyone knows its diesel automatic variant is quite interesting. One of the best options in the compact SUV space. Now, most car manufacturers have dropped the diesel option but Kia still sells the Seltos with diesel and its sales are very high. We recently got a chance to try the diesel and automatic combo of the Seltos facelift. If you travel long distances and require a diesel engine for long journeys then you can opt for the Seltos.
Powerful and silent engine
The diesel engine found in the Seltos facelift generates 115bhp power and 250Nm torque and is a 1.5-liter unit. It gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The diesel engine is low-pitched and at low speeds, the Seltos diesel is quite refined and smooth. When given high speed, the engine sounds like a normal diesel engine. The lag is well controlled and it doesn't sound like a 'normal diesel' engine. At low speeds, it's quite responsive and with linear power delivery, it's quite easy to use.
Gets strong mileage
On the highway, the Seltos diesel automatic cruises smoothly at higher speeds, but the driver should note that this automatic gearbox edition is a bit slow in downshifting and has less power delivery. The Seltos diesel automatic performs very well as a comfortable cruiser. The best thing is that its fuel efficiency is also high because you will be able to get a mileage of 14-15 km per liter in the city and on the highway, it gets better and better, whereas this is not the case at all with turbo petrol. The automatic diesel has been kept as the top-end variant of Seltos. Which means that you get all the features in it. This is the most feature-equipped SUV in its segment.
Conclusion
The ex-showroom price of the Seltos diesel automatic is less than Rs 20 lakh and although it is not as fun as the turbo petrol or iMT models, the diesel automatic is an excellent long-range cruiser. diesel cars are becoming less popular these days, but for those who drive a lot and want an automatic, the Seltos diesel Automatic is one of the last few options to come with this configuration, while also offering fresh looks and a feature-packed cabin. There is a plus point.
