Director Susi Ganeshan revealed a few days ago that he had hired music director Ilaiyaraaja to write the music for his upcoming film Venjam Theerthaayadaa. He also posted a photo of himself with the maestro. He added that he will share the news through social media "I am delighted to join Maestro ilayaraja sir. #Vanjamtheerththaayadaa is on board."

However, a musician of Ilaiyaraaja's stature has been chastised for working with Susi Ganeshan, who has been accused of sexual harassment by filmmaker Leena Manimekalai in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement. On her social media account, singer Chinmayi, who is one of several women who have spoken out against lyricist Vairamuthu, asked if Ilaiyaraaja was aware of Susi Ganeshan's accusation.

"Theerthayada Vanjam. Wow. That's pretty much how this director has treated Leena. Isn't raja sir and his staff aware that they are assisting and collaborating with a molester who is tormenting the ladies who have come forward? "she inquired. Many internet users have also expressed dissatisfaction with Isaignani's decision to appear in a film directed by a #MeToo-accused filmmaker.

Dhivya Marunthiah, a social activist and politician, remarked, "It's no surprise that LeenaManimekalai is struggling. #Abusers like #SusiGanesan will go to any length to make their victims disappear, even if it means burying them six feet underground. Or, more likely, will continue until the body is depleted of blood. Please take a stand, folded hands It is impossible to abuse people and get away with it."
