Subhash Shankar, a close associate of fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, was apprehended in Cairo, egypt, as part of a large cbi operation. In addition, the agency has brought him to Mumbai. The cbi has arrested him in connection with the Nirav Modi-related punjab National bank (PNB) scam.

According to PTI, cbi authorities stated that Subhash shankar Parab was the Deputy General Manager of Finance in Firestar Diamond. He is also considered as a key criminal and suspect in the 7,000 crore bank scam of Nirav Modi. According to him, Parab, who was purportedly hiding in Cairo, was transported to mumbai on tuesday following his extradition. 


Approximately Rs 14,000 crore was lost as a result of the PNB fraud.

Nirav Modi is accused of robbing PNB of over Rs 14,000 crore and unlawfully moving money to foreign countries. After the deception was discovered, the 50-year-old diamond trader fled India. This was followed by Nirav Modi's arrest in britain in march 2019. Nirav Modi is being held in Wandsworth Prison in London. On the basis of a petition filed by indian agencies, the Westminster Magistrates' court in london ordered extradition to India. This order has been contested by Nirav Modi. Nirav Modi has made references to mental health and human rights.
