Sethu (Hridhu Haroon), who is detained for his supposed involvement in the murder case, is presented to us in the very first scene. He eventually finds himself in Nagercoil's district jail, where things don't seem to be quite as they seem. Sethu's chances to arouse the fury of inspector Arokkya Das (RK Suresh) within the jail while a powerful guy outside is already waiting to get him for a variety of reasons.

Also, we learn that sethu was on the run from the law with his girlfriend Kayal (Anaswara Rajan), and that he eventually wound up in jail before beginning a new life. Sethu, a cunning kid, plans an escape with the assistance of other remand prisoners there, notably bobby Simha, as pressure from all sides increases. With all the obstacles they face on a daily basis, would these prisoners be able to carry out their plan?

The 2018 malayalam film Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, which was directed by Brinda, was adapted for use in Thugs. Similar to the original, Brinda has succeeded in producing a technically excellent movie that delivers audiences an exhilarating experience in the second half. The jailbreak action is well made with some intriguing frame compositions, notably when sethu is being pursued by a gang of police officers toward the conclusion.

Yet, the director spends a lot of time establishing the basic setup and the conflicts. The opening sequences kind of ruin the "reality" that goes along with a genre like this by using too many speed ramps and sluggish motions. Another flaw is that we have a hard time empathizing with the main protagonists, who are yearning to get out of jail. Despite all the difficulties they encounter inside the jail, their motivations are not sufficiently obvious for us to support them. We can't fault the actor selection or the choreography of the stunt routines in the climactic scenes, either. Background music by sam CS has the ability to enhance specific scenes and feelings.

The persona fits Hridhu Haroon's appearance perfectly, and his intense acting does a lot to keep the audience's interest. As he dominates the majority of his co-stars in the movie, it doesn't feel like his acting debut. In the second half, Munishkanth's one-liners do help to occasionally create humorous moments. The tale benefits from rk Suresh's powerful portrayal of a scary cop. bobby Simhaa has also given his very best. Nonetheless, the movie is not as violent as what the first-look poster and the trailer implied.

'Thugs' is an all-around excellent movie that should be seen on a huge screen because of its technical mastery and the genre it explores.
