The media stated that former US President donald trump pushed his supporters to start large-scale protests on saturday by saying that he anticipates being detained on tuesday of next week. The former US President said in a post on Truth Social that he "will be arrested on tuesday of next week" according to "illegal leaks" from the Manhattan district Attorney's office, according to Xinhua news agency. "Take our nation back," trump declared, issuing a call for his fans to demonstrate.

According to reports, the Manhattan district Attorney's office is looking into whether trump fabricated financial documents in relation to a purported hush-money payment to an adult film star during the 2016 presidential campaign. trump, a Republican who was president of the united states from january 2017 to january 2021, has called the investigation a witch hunt and his lawyer has stated that the Republican has no plans to take part in the investigation.

The matter advanced earlier this month when trump was requested to testify before a grand jury, which, according to analysts, suggested that he might soon be charged with a crime. The former president's post was based on media rumours, according to his lawyer, who said there had been no communication from law enforcement regarding the arrest. Additionally, the district attorney's office is still silent.

"Since this is a political prosecution, the district attorney's office has engaged in a practise of leaking everything to the press, rather than communicating with Donald Trump's attorneys as would be done in a normal case," Trump's attorney Susan Necheles said, adding that her team had not received any communication from law enforcement.

Reports indicate that an indictment of donald trump may be forthcoming as soon as next week. If he is charged, it will be the first time a former US president has ever faced criminal charges. Even if he is indicted, trump has promised to continue running for the GOP nomination in the 2024 presidential election.
