In delhi, all private booze shops will close in october, leaving just government liquor outlets operational, making it even more difficult to purchase. In delhi, there are currently around 720 liquor stores, with 260 of them being privately owned. According to manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of delhi, delhi has been segmented into 32 zones underneath the new excise strategy, with the process of allotment of licenses finished in 20 sectors and financial bids for the other 12 sectors to be given soon.

Under the New Excise Strategy, the shops that will be closed will resume on november 17; until then, booze will only be supplied at government stores. Essentially, the government has extended the licenses of private liquor stores until september 30, as per the revised excise strategy, following the allocation of licenses in all 32 zones. After that, no additional licenses would be provided. As a result, starting october 1, all 260 private stores will be shut.

According to the new announcement, the new excise policy will have a significant impact on the entire system. In addition, liquor stores will be required to have at least 500 square feet of area. It's worth mentioning that delhi only receives Rs 325 crore in national taxes, despite the delhi government being involved in central taxes totaling Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand crores.
