Former chief minister O. Panneer Selvam has rejected the Income Tax Department's request to postpone a notice demanding payment of Rs 82.32 crore in taxes. Sehgar Reddy's house and offices were raided by the Income Tax Department. On behalf of the Income Tax Department, a notification was given to O. Panneerselvam in april based on papers seized at the time. Notices to pay Rs 20 lakh for the previous 2015-16 assessment year and Rs 82.12 crore for the 2017-18 assessment year were issued.

On behalf of O. Panneerselvam, petitions were filed in the high court seeking to have the Income Tax Department's notification quashed and to prevent further action. The matter was heard yesterday by Chief Justice in Charge Muneeswar Nath Bandari and Justice PD Adikesavalu in the session of Chief Justice in Charge Muneeswar Nath Bandari and Justice PD Adikesavalu.

The courts then refused to overturn the notification issued by the Internal Revenue Service. They also directed that all activities, including the Income Tax Department's assessment order, be subject to the case's final verdict. The IRS has requested a response and has postponed the hearing until december 8th, Wednesday.
