Government Arts college students staged a road roadblock in Chetput yesterday, asking that more buses be run. The government Arts Colleges in Thiruvannamalai and Seiyar are home to nearly 10,000 students from all across the district. students from various towns travel to the city and take the bus to college. students are obliged to travel by hanging on the stairwells due to the limited number of buses that run during college hours. 

As a result, people are blocking roadways in cities such as Thiruvannamalai, Arani, Seiyaru, and Sengam, requesting that more buses be run. The students' plea, however, was not granted. As a result, the students' struggle in Chetput resumed yesterday. Yesterday, students mounted a picket on ginger Road in Chetput town.

When the Chetput police learned about this, they went to the scene and spoke with the pupils. We, the students of the government Arts college at The Hill, were traveling from Chetput to The Hill via government bus at the time. As the number of pupils has grown, so has the number of buses. As a result, we travel while the bus hangs from the stairwell. Long-distance buses are subject to a fee. So there's the misery of having to run extra buses during college hours for us. "The district government should accept our proposal and come forward with more buses to run."
