The Kodanad estate murder and robbery case, according to Prosecutor Shahjahan, is at a critical stage. A tea estate owned by the late former chief minister Jayalalithaa is located in the Kodanad area near Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district. A crowd burst into the bungalow around midnight on april 23, 2017, killing Ombakadurai, a security guard, and looting other valuables. Saiyan and kanagaraj are suspected of being the masterminds behind the murder and heist. kanagaraj was murdered in an automobile accident in this case. Ten persons have been arrested in connection with the case, including Saiyan and Valayaru Manoj, and they are all free on bail.

In this case, the police detained Kanagaraj's brother Danapal and cousin Ramesh. Yesterday, the matter was heard in the Udagai district Court. The only two people present were Saiyan and Valayaru Manoj. The government was represented by special counsel Shahjahan and Kanagaraj. Judge Sanjay baba of the Udhaya district Sessions court extended the case till january 28 after the prosecution requested more witnesses.

Shahjahan, the State Attorney, stated, "In the Kodanad murder and robbery case, police have questioned 150 witnesses so far. This case's trial has reached a critical point. If necessary, arrests will be made." Valayaru Manoj submitted a plea in this matter, requesting that the bail terms be relaxed. Following the government's strong resistance, the judge dismissed the petition.
