Ali, a popular telugu comedian and television host whose name was circulating as one of the likely candidates for the congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='ysr congress-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>ysr congress party's rajya sabha candidacy, seems unfazed by his failure to make the final list. ali expressed no regrets a day after YSRC president and chief minister Y S jagan Mohan reddy released the names of contenders for four rajya sabha seats. "I didn't expect to be nominated for the rajya sabha," he stated.

He said that telugu cinema director S v Krishna reddy gave him a start in the profession, and that jagan Mohan reddy was grooming him to become a politician. "I never anticipated jagan to do anything. He knows what to give me at when time," he explained. ali stated unequivocally that he would accept any future position offered by Jagan. He declared, "I will fulfil whatever task handed to me by the party." Before the 2019 elections, the comedian joined the YSRC, and there was speculation that he may be fielded from the rajahmundry assembly constituency. However, jagan was unable to accept him due to political and caste differences.

There was also talk that jagan might give him a post during the recent filling of nominated posts. In reality, ali was summoned to the chief minister's meeting with the tollywood delegation a few months ago, and jagan is said to have promised him a job.
