The kakinada police are said to have arrested ysr congress party MLC Ananta Udaya bhaskar alias Ananta Babu, the prime accused in the horrific murder of 24-year-old driver V Subrahmanyam in the early hours of Friday, after three days of suspense. Ananta Babu surrendered to the police on monday morning, according to a part of the media citing police sources, and he was being questioned in a secret location in Kakinada. Late in the evening, he might be formally arrested.
According to media sources, Ananta Babu admitted to killing Subrahmanyam, who had previously worked as his car driver. He is said to have told the authorities that he was the sole perpetrator of the murder and that no one else was involved. The MLC allegedly informed the cops that he had eliminated Subrahmanyam because he was interfering in his personal matters.
"The driver tried to blackmail me by threatening to reveal my personal problems to everyone," he is claimed to have added. Ananta Babu, on the other hand, admitted to the authorities that his first plan was not to kill Subrahmanyam, but rather to beat him black and blue. "He died as I was thrashing him," the MLC told the cops. According to reports, the police have reconstructed the scene from the night he abducted Subrahmanyam from his home until he returned the body to his home. But, the police kept everything a secret; however, according to allegations, certain officials leaked the information to the media.
