If you are a ration card holder then this message is for you. The government has issued a new ordinance for ration cards. Under this, verification of Antyothaya and eligible household ration card holders has been directed to be completed within 30 days. The ration card of ineligible beneficiaries will be canceled during verification during this period. Along with this, the cards of the eligible beneficiaries will be produced in their place and they will be given the benefit of the ration scheme.
Uttar Pradesh Food and Supply Commissioner Markde Shahi has issued instructions to all district Magistrates and district Supply Officers. Additional Food Commissioner Anil Kumar Dubey said that the personal information given by the beneficiaries changes from time to time. In this case, there are complaints from time to time about ineligible units being placed on ration cards. For ineligible cardholders, this campaign is being conducted under the 'National Food Security Act 2013'. 
Instead of ineligible beneficiaries, ration cards have been issued to eligible beneficiaries.Anil Kumar Dubey says the aim of such campaigns is to remove the ineligible from the list of beneficiaries and give opportunities to the deserving. Based on the information provided under this, a database is prepared by collecting details like the number of family members, age, and place of residence. In this regard, there is a possibility that the Cardholder may be ineligible based on death or better financial condition of the Cardholder.
The government has started periodic verification of ration cards. In the past few days, the government has informed the parliament that 2 crores 41 lakh ration cards have been canceled as duplicate, ineligible and fake in the country from 2017 to 2021. Of this, a maximum of 1.42 crore ration cards have been canceled in UP.
