On this, the police arrived at the spot, seized the body of the old woman and sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem. The investigation conducted by the police revealed that Sanjay, Gautham, Eshwari, Banumathi and a 16-year-old boy killed the old woman for the sake of jewellery. Subsequently, the police arrested all 5 people. Regarding this, the police department said, "Eshwari was staying with her son Sanjay at Theivanayammal's house. Later, Eswari moved to another separate house on the same street. 

From time to time, Deivanayammal used to call Sanjay for help. In this case, Sanjay needed 50 thousand rupees to pay for the bike. Sanjay, along with his friend gautham and a 17-year-old boy, went to Deivanayammal's house, planning to snatch the jewel from the old lady. They then killed the old woman and stole eight and a half pounds worth of jewellery.

 Eshwari, who went there after hearing the news of her grandmother's death, took away 20 thousand rupees from the bureau. The investigation revealed that these things were hidden from the grandmother's daughter-in-law, Banumathi, and Banumathi and Iswari hatched a plan to kill her. Subsequently, the West police station police arrested 4 people including the daughter-in-law. They also seized jewellery and a bike.Police found the criminals within 8 hours.
