According to sources close to the administration, the Gruha jyothi free power initiative will take effect on march 1st, after the telangana government's announcement requesting the necessary paperwork. "The scheme's implementation guidelines have been released. According to an official, the government is prepared to put it into effect on march 1.

Households will get a restricted amount of free monthly eligible consumption (MEC) under the system. The program is available to up to 34 lakh families in the state. To take advantage of the program, each family must adhere to a set of suitable criteria that have been published by the government. Moreover, it has been stated that the plan would only be available to individuals whose white ration cards are connected to an Aadhaar number.
 

"By eliminating the need to present multiple documents to prove one's identity, the use of Aadhaar as an identity document for the delivery of services, benefits, or subsidies simplifies the government delivery processes, brings in transparency and efficiency, and enables beneficiaries to get their entitlements directly conveniently and seamlessly," the government declared on Friday, february 16. Under the scheme, the state government will provide free electricity to eligible households in telangana that consume up to 200 units of electricity per month are eligible to receive free electricity.
