The Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) advertising strategy sparked complaints during Monday's ghmc general body meeting. Corporations claimed that when private firms were awarded advertising rights, widespread corruption occurred. They claimed that, with the approval of a few authorities, three agencies have taken over the city's advertising space.

Mayor Gadwal vijayalakshmi instructed ghmc Commissioner D Ronald Rose to designate an enquiring officer to look into the allegations and provide a report. In addition, she pledged to form a house committee to examine the company's advertising guidelines. Concerns were also expressed over the ghmc Act's tax collection on wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital boards and the state of bus shelters that are leased for fifteen years.

The corporators' arguments were endorsed by MLC and ex-officio member MS prabhakar Rao, who emphasized for ghmc to enhance its revenue via trade licenses and ads. Several Severals expressed harsh criticism towards the officials on the state of the city's streetlights, pointing out problems such as lamps that gas lowed throughout the day, broken bulbs, and inadequate cabling.

In response to the concerns, the ghmc commissioner mentioned a grievance filed with Energy Efficiency services Limited (EESL), which is in charge of streetlights till 2025. He promised that the problems will be rectified with the assistance of the thirty resource people that EESL had sent to GHMC. A budget of Rs 7,937 crore was approved by the civic body on tuesday for the fiscal year 2024–25.
