With rain predicted for the city, hyderabad is set to get a much-needed respite from the summer-like heat. Because of the convergence of the easterlies and the moisture drawn from the Bay of Bengal, rainfall is also expected in the eastern regions of Telangana.

Hyderabad saw "excess" cumulative rainfall during the southwest monsoon season on Saturday, even though it was an El Nino year. A twenty-five percent variation in rainfall was noted. The mandals in hyderabad that had rainfall deviations over the city average were Shaikpet, Maredpally, Charminar, Asifnagar, Nampally, Khairatabad, Secunderabad, and Tirumalgiri.
