Following the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership's decision to form an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) for the upcoming telangana lok sabha elections, a BRS leader has chosen to join the congress party. To decide on a plan of action, former mla koneru konappa has gathered his followers for a meeting.

Later on Wednesday, he is expected to meet with chief minister A. revanth reddy to formally join the congress party.

The BRS intention to establish an alliance with the BSP has been met with tremendous opposition from the supporters of the former mla from the Sirupur constituency in the komaram bheem area.

In the most recent assembly elections, Sirpur was the contestant from BSP state president R.S. praveen Kumar. Supporters of koneru konappa claim that their leader's entry into the race caused him to lose.

Three-time mla koneru konappa was defeated by bjp candidate P. Harish Babu by a margin of 3,000 votes. Former IPS officer praveen Kumar came in third.

Koneru Konappa was first elected from Sirpur in 2004 while running on a congress platform. After that, he joined the BSP, and in 2014, he won the same seat. He did, however, defect to trs (now BRS) as soon as the election was over. In 2018, he kept his place on a BRS ticket.

Following a meeting between praveen Kumar and BRS president K. chandrasekhar Rao, the BRS and BSP declared their alliance on Tuesday.

The former chief minister has indicated that he would be open to giving the BSP some lok sabha seats. Following discussions between Mayawati, the leader of the BSP, and K. chandrasekhar Rao, the specifics of seat-sharing are expected to be disclosed.
