Through the use of "Zero Fare Tickets," which are distributed by the telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), it is anticipated that around 29 crore women have taken free bus trips since the start of the maha Lakshmi free travel plan in december 2023.
 
According to information provided by the company, since the program's inception, 26.99 lakh women have reportedly benefited from free bus service every day on average. In january 2024, the number climbed steadily to 28.10 lakh daily, and in february 2024, it reached 31.56 lakh daily.
 
The research showed that Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and warangal areas were the top three in terms of occupancy rate.

Remarkably, rtc has 2,670 buses in the Greater Zone (Hyderabad and Secunderabad) under its operation.
 
According to reports, 14.5 lakh of the 21 lakh passengers that ride buses every day in the zone are women.
 
The maha Lakshmi initiative is a safer alternative for individuals coming home late than using a shared cab, according to telangana Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who expressed appreciation for the government's decision to implement it. The scheme is particularly helpful for the unemployed.
 
The minister stated, "The program has been a blessing for working women, especially those employed by the government, as they can now save money that they used to spend on commuting to work."
 
"The program has benefited women in many ways, including increased savings, improved mobility, and access to jobs, healthcare, education, and other necessities," he continued.
