On friday night, the city police detained a 35-year-old man for smuggling large amounts of alcohol valued at Rs 2,50,000.
 
A police news statement stated that N kiran kumar, the accused, was taken into custody during a car inspection close to Iqbal Minar.
 
611 alcohol bottles in total—432 beer and 179 whiskey bottles—were taken from the defendant by the police.
 
Accused kiran kumar is a fruit merchant by trade and lives in Pool Bagh, Basheerabad. For quick cash, he began carrying and selling alcohol illegally. As mentioned in the police news release, he was apprehended while smuggling alcohol for the holi celebration.
 
The Omni van he utilized for the purpose was also confiscated by the police. There is a registered case.


On Sunday, the medak Division's Prohibition and Excise Enforcement arrested two individuals for smuggling alcohol from goa and confiscated liquor bottles valued at Rs one lakh. According to K Raghuram, Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise Enforcement, medak Division, they carried out a vehicle check at Kamkole Toll Plaza on a tip and discovered a car in which two people were involved in the illegal transportation of liquor from goa to Telangana.
