On wednesday night, the congress declared candidates for 14 lok sabha seats, including the much-awaited adilabad seat. The national party was embarrassed when people on social media made fun of it for mispronouncing a nominee's name for Adilabad.

According to the media-released list of 14 candidates with the undersignature of AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, Dr. Suguna Kumari Chelimala has been nominated to fill Athram Suguna's seat in the adilabad Parliament reserved for ST. However, the front-runner for the peddapalli ticket was Suguna Kumari, a two-time member of parliament. She is also a part of the sc community.

A whatsapp user questioned, "Has the congress altered Suguna Kumari's caste?" Another user commented, "Anything is possible in the Congress." A user questioned if adilabad rather than peddapalli was entered. Another user said, "She could feel content mentioning her name even though she was rejected the ticket." Citing the mistake, some people made fun of the celebration.

But the party acknowledged the misspelling in a press release after recognizing it was a mistake on the list. "The name of the adilabad portion was misspelled, and it has been fixed. Athram Suguna is the candidate's name, according to the announcement. The statement was a great comfort to Suguna, a former teacher who is now a politician.

Suguna, sensing difficulties, had already started to mitigate the damage by asking social media followers to not let the mistake get to them. After the congress officially revealed her identity from the adilabad section, she was thereafter praised by the users.

It is rumoured that khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju and responsible minister Seethakka had supported her nomination.
