Many were surprised when "Maidaan," released with tiger shroff and Akshay Kumar's "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan," underperformed at the box office, particularly in large cities. Despite overwhelmingly excellent reviews, it failed to draw a crowd, which resulted in a 40% decline in revenues from Thursday's already meager earnings, which were projected to reach ₹2.5 Cr on Friday.
