The name tamannaah bhatia has surfaced about the unlawful streaming of IPL matches. The actress, according to sources, has been called in by the maharashtra Cyber Cell to be questioned about the issue. On april 29, the actress is scheduled to attend for interrogation. Sanjay Dutt's name reportedly surfaced about the case as well. However, he was unable to attend the questioning owing to his schedule.
 
“Maharashtra Cyber summons actor tamannaah bhatia for questioning in connection with the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 on Fairplay App that caused loss of Crores of Rupees to Viacom. She has been asked to appear before maharashtra Cyber on 29th april,” ANI shared on X.

“Actor sanjay dutt was also summoned in this connection on 23rd april but he had not appeared before them. He had, instead, sought a date and time for recording his statement and said that he was not in india on the date,” they added.


The Times of india reports that an FIR was filed in september 2023 in response to a complaint by Viacom18, who claimed to be the rightful owner of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the IPL match streaming. Despite this, the matches were being illegally streamed on the Fair Play network by the betting app. Viacom18 suffered a loss of nearly Rs 100 crore as a result. Many celebrities, including tamannaah, sanjay dutt, Badshah, and Jacqueline Fernandez, were summoned for interrogation after the filing of the first information report. An employee of the betting app was taken into custody in december of 2023.
