Often referred to as the "world’s most beautiful footballer," Ana Maria Markovic startled supporters by departing sc Braga midway through the season. In an emotional video last month, the 25-year-old Croatian forward emotionally confessed, "I hate football." As she said goodbye to her partner, football player Tomas Ribeiro, who had joined Farense, she made her confession. Markovic has now amicably terminated her contract with Braga to make a change for herself.

She sent a touching letter on Instagram, looking back on her brief but memorable time at the club. She wrote, "Things don't always go as planned." "I was able to advance as a football player throughout this brief but intensive voyage, which had its ups and downs. The finest aspect? Of course, my teammates. You are incredible, and I appreciate all of your help, teamwork, and wonderful times both on and off the field.

She concluded on a positive note by thanking the team and supporters for their professionalism and support, saying, "The journey continues, and I'm excited for what's next!"

In a formal statement, Braga also acknowledged her departure and thanked her for her commitment and expertise. Markovic's career in Portuguese football came to an abrupt end when she left the team after just four games.

Braga's statement said: "SC Braga thus notifies you that the Club and Ana Maria Markovic have mutually agreed to dissolve the agreement that bound them together.

"In her first season of Portuguese football, the Croatian international participated in four games for the Gverreiras do Minho.

"SC Braga thanks you for all the dedication, commitment, and professionalism with which you have always represented the club and wishes you all the best in your professional and personal future."

Although it's unclear what Markovic will do next, her followers will now be eagerly following her to see where her adventure leads her.
