On May 9, acclaimed actress samantha Ruth Prabhu will premiere her first film, Subham, marking a daring move into the film industry. Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, and Shravani lakshmi are among the new cast members in the movie. Veteran producer Lagadapati sridhar adds, "She has finished one task — production — and now she has to showcase her marketing skills, sell the film at a good price, and draw audiences to theaters."

He notes that while IPL matches have an impact on evening and nighttime collections at theaters in andhra pradesh and Telangana, the current situation is difficult for horror comedies, which have had a few hits.  Subham, which was produced on a modest budget of at least ₹4 crores, is anticipated to need an extra ₹2 crores for marketing to create excitement among viewers and distributors.  "Her special appearance in the movie and her brand value will definitely help," sridhar continues. "But before investing, distributors will ultimately evaluate the quality of the story and the cast."

Although Samantha's reputation will probably guarantee a respectable theatrical run, sridhar points out that it is unclear if she will decide to sell the movie entirely or on a commission basis.  However, Samantha's move into production marks a major turning point in her career.  She has established a unique persona in both bollywood and Tollywood.  She is currently trying to validate her instincts in script selection, execution, and creative marketing after putting on impressive performances in Oh! Baby and Yashoda.  If she is successful, her reputation as a producer might gain the same level of renown as her acting career," sridhar says.
