The accused utilized the tactic of sexually abusing the ladies and recording the incident to blackmail them, according to the Central Bureau of Intelligence. A group of nine predatory sexual offenders located in pollachi, who preyed on women from lower socioeconomic backgrounds between 2016 and 2018, were revealed by the bravery and tenacity of a 19-year-old college student.

Investigators claim that on february 12, 2019, N. Sabarirajan, also known as Rishwanth, made friends with the girl and invited her to go on a drive with him.  Sabarirajan sexually assaulted her as K. Thirunavukkarasu was operating the vehicle on Dharapuram Road.  They were joined halfway by M. sathish and T. Vasanthakumar.

Sathish used a cell phone to record the performance.  Later, they blackmailed her using the video.  She had also been robbed of a gold chain by the four men.

"The accused engaged in the practice of sexually abusing the victims and recording the incident to utilize it as leverage. After a few days, the girl notified her family about the incident, and on february 24, 2019, a complaint was filed at the pollachi East police station, exposing the gang, according to V. Surendra Mohan, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) public prosecutor in the case.

Five further gang members were arrested as a result of the local police investigation, which was followed by the Crime Branch's criminal Investigation Department and the CBI. These individuals were R. Mani, also known as Manivannan, P. Babu, T. Haronimus Paul, K. Arulanantham, and M. Arunkumar. " The 19-year-old student is thought to be the gang's final victim. She bravely came forward and exposed the gang," Mr. Mohan added.

Investigators were astonished to discover a large number of recordings of sexual assaults, sexual actions, and porn videos that had been obtained from the internet on the nine men's electronic devices. These videos were primarily from Sabarirajan's laptop and Thirunavukkarasu's mobile phone.  Later, the police and cbi were able to identify the perpetrators and survivors with the aid of these videos.

"The men were primarily driven by carnal pleasure, which eventually led them to sexually assault women and blackmail them into letting them repeat the offense," stated a former investigator.
