The Union Ministry of External Affairs has rejected China's attempt to change the names of several places in Arunachal Pradesh. There has been a border dispute between india and china for many years. In april 2024, china renamed 30 places in Arunachal Pradesh in its own language in a bid to taunt India. china has been calling Arunachal Pradesh "Zhongnan". It renamed six places there in 2017. Following this, it renamed 15 places in 2021 and 11 places in 2023. Currently, china is once again trying to change the names of many places in Arunachal Pradesh. In this context, the Union Ministry of External Affairs has rejected China's attempt to change the names of many places in Arunachal Pradesh.
In this regard, the Union Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir jaiswal issued a statement: We are closely observing the futile and absurd attempts by china to name places in the indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. In line with our principled position, we categorically reject such attempts. Arunachal Pradesh has been an integral and indivisible part of India. Even by changing the name, china cannot change the real reality, he said.
