The enthusiasm of spectators to visit theaters is waning with every year that goes by.  Although there is still a movie culture in the telugu states, it is not drawing in the correct kind of people due to shifting audience preferences and the emergence of a new generation.  Since kids will have holidays and be eager to see movies on the big screen, summer is typically thought of as a favorable time of year for the box office.  However, 2025 Summer is so uninteresting that not a single movie became a hit.

There hasn't been a single hit this month, despite the fact that May is almost over.  Bhairavam will be released at the end of the month, and there isn't a lot of positive word about it.  The lack of huge names in the box office competition is the main cause of this dip.  Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which comes out next month, will feature pawan kalyan alone this season.  In addition to him, nagarjuna will be the star of Kubera by the end of June.

In actuality, viewers' movie-going habits will also be hindered when a big star is not frequently visible on screen.  When stars appear in movies on a frequent basis, audiences develop a habit of watching them, and as a result, they would rather watch a movie with lesser budgets or unknown actors.  The desire to wait for the movie's premiere on over-the-top (OTT) platforms has supplanted those earlier days.

Producers and people in the film industry believe that the IPL season and the lack of major stars were the main causes of the losses.

In actuality, though, the harm inflicted by the IPL is little.  Regarding the telugu states, sun Risers Hyderabad, the host team, was completely unsuccessful from the start of the season.  People actually lost interest in the tournament as a result of all the other top-performing teams, including CSK, putting on a poor performance.  One factor is the lack of well-known performers, but other problems include the cost of tickets, the food and drink costs at multiplexes, and the four-week OTT window that keeps people from going to the movies.

The problem of fewer people visiting theaters will persist, and it might even worsen in the days ahead, unless the film industry concentrates on determining ticket pricing and negotiating advantageous agreements with OTT platforms.
