One of the strongest characters in the entire MCU, Bob, sometimes known as The Sentry, made his début in Marvel's Thunderbolts*. Nonetheless, both in the MCU and the comics, the Mad Titan Thanos is regarded as one of Marvel's most formidable characters.  Given this, a lot of people might be curious about which of the two Marvel heroes is more formidable in real life.

Through the efforts of CIA director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and the OXE Group, Bob Reynolds transforms into the remarkable Sentry in Thunderbolts*.  The Sentry is undoubtedly one of the most potent characters to ever appear in the MCU, with the desire to build their own Earth's Mightiest hero (albeit he does have a significant dark side known as the Void).  Here is who would prevail in a battle between The Sentry and Thanos in the MCU, even though it would surely be close.

Bob, also known as Sentry, is portrayed by Lewis Pullman. He has improved speed, stamina, and reflexes, as well as tremendous super-strength, flight, and extraordinary durability.  When The Void began to take control, Bob quickly recovered after Val pressed a kill switch, demonstrating his remarkable healing factor.  He also possesses some amazing psychic powers, including the capacity to manipulate matter itself, read minds through touch, and telekinesis.  Bob, who represents the much darker Void, has the ability to release a darkness that envelops his victims and transports them to a nightmarish universe where their worst errors and traumatic experiences are recreated.

Since the original Marvel Comics version served as the inspiration for the MCU Sentry, it is important to note that the comics' Sentry is significantly more powerful.  The Sentry's power on the page does not appear to have an upper limit.  Sentry possesses many of the same abilities as the MCU, but his main one is photokinesis, which he describes as having "the power of a million exploding suns" (the MCU only uses "a thousand suns" as a marketing slogan from the OXE Group).

It is quite probable that Sentry would ultimately defeat Thanos in the MCU.  Even though Sentry isn't as strong as his comic book counterpart, he still possesses the strength of "all the Avengers wrapped into one" in essence.  Similarly, this is particularly true if The Void is also involved.
