A few days ago, a piece of news caught everyone's attention. It caused some concern. Mangoes exported from india to America. It is known that the authorities there rejected them after they reached there. With this, those who sent them were at a loss. In such a situation, they had to bring them back to India. Or they had to dump them there. In this case, the mango exporters decided that it would be better to dump the stock they had exported there. With this, they suffered a loss of about Rs. 4.2 crore. Since the cost of bringing them back is high and they are a perishable crop, they decided to leave them there.
What will happen to the export of mangoes to America in the coming days? This has now become a question. However, exporters say that they are planning to send better fruits than now. It is said that 15-17 tons of mangoes sent to America were rejected. These mangoes were landed at Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Atlanta airports in America. It is said that an irradiation process was carried out at a center in Navi mumbai under the supervision of a US Department of Agriculture officer to prevent these fruits from getting infected during export from Mumbai. They also said that they would give a certificate on this occasion. However, in the latest episode, they denied the said document after the stock went to America.  As they delved deeper into this, a new issue came to light. Officials in the US say that they have some doubts about the way the USDA officials in india tested the mangoes, which is why they rejected the certificate, says an exporter. With recent experience, where did the mistake go? Where is the information missing? They say that if precautions are taken to prevent the mistakes made in coordination from happening again, such a situation will not be repeated. However, it must be said that the latest development will make those exporting to the US more alert.
