Annual pass at a price of Rs. 3,000: In a significant step to improve highway travel facilities, Union minister of Road Transport and Highways nitin gadkari has announced the introduction of a FASTag-based annual pass for private vehicles. He said that this pass, which will be available at a price of Rs. 3,000, will come into effect from august 15. Union minister nitin gadkari has said that through this, up to 200 trips can be traveled free of cost on national highways throughout the year. It will be valid for one year from the date of implementation or till 200 trips, whichever comes first.

He said that this initiative aims to regulate toll charges and ensure smooth, fast travel on national highways in India. How to get an annual pass..?:
Motorists will soon be able to activate and renew the annual pass using the special link available on the Rajmark yatra app and through the official websites of the National Highways Authority of india (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Currently, toll booths are being set up across the country and tolls are being collected. vehicles are paying tolls through FASTag technology. But, in many places, vehicles have to stop. This causes many problems like loss of time, traffic jams, fuel wastage, and technical glitches. Toll fees are being increased twice a year. It is noteworthy that half of the tolls are being increased in the first 6 months and the remaining tolls in the next 6 months.
