In view of the Israeli attack on iran and the current situation in the Middle east after that, air india has decided to temporarily cut international air services. air india has said that it is going to cut the operation of wide body aircraft by 15 percent by mid-July. This decision was taken by air india at a time when earlier on june 12, one of its Boeing aircraft met with an accident while flying in Ahmedabad. The airline further said that this decision has been taken to reduce the inconvenience of passengers and ensure better operation of the aircraft amid many challenges.

Reduction in international operations

air india wrote on a social media post that due to the ongoing geopolitical tension in the Middle east and night curfew and tightening of security checks in many countries including Europe-East Asia, the engineering staff and air india pilots have taken this step as a necessary precaution.

air india said that there have been many obstacles in the operation of international flights in the last six days, due to which a total of 83 flights have had to be canceled so far. The airline company said that it was very necessary to take this step in the current situation.

Apologized to passengers

air india apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the reduction in flights and said that they will be informed in advance for alternative aircraft. Along with this, passengers will be able to get a refund without any charge or they can also reschedule their plan without any charge. air india said that the revised schedule of international air services will come into effect from june 20, 2025.

air india also commented on the ahmedabad plane crash and said that the investigation of the cars of that incident is going on at this time. The authorities are finding out the real reasons behind this incident. On the other hand, the director General of Civil Aviation has given instructions to increase the security checks of air India's Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft.
