Voting is being held today (19 June) for Kadi and Visavadar by-elections in Gujarat. Voting has started at 7 am and people can cast their votes till 6 pm. 16 candidates are in the fray on Visavadar seat and 8 on Kadi assembly seat. 297 polling stations have been set up for both the seats.

bjp has given ticket to Kiritbhai patel on Visavadar assembly seat of Junagadh district. Against whom congress has fielded Nitinbhai Ranparia. While aam aadmi party candidate is Gopal Italia. Apart from these three main candidates, Kishorebhai Kankad, Tulsi Lalaiya, Nirupaben Madhu, Binalkumar patel, Rajeshkumar patel, Bharatbhai Narigara, Yunusbhai Solanki, Rajnikant Vaghani, raj Prajapati, suresh Malviya, Rohit Solanki, Sanjaybhai Tank and Hiteshbhai Vaghasiya are also contesting from this seat.

2.61 lakh voters will vote

The main contest in Visavadar is between BJP-Congress and AAP. 2.61 lakh voters will vote at 297 polling stations, 1884 employees have been deployed. 2.61 lakh voters will vote at 297 polling stations, in the by-election, along with BJP-Congress and AAP, candidates of other parties are also in the fray.

How many voters in Visavadar assembly constituency

A total of 2,61,092 voters are registered in Visavadar assembly constituency. This includes 1,35,609 male, 1,25,479 female and 4 other voters. A photo voter list has been prepared to guide voters. Photo voter slips have been distributed to voters five days before the polling. Voter slips with Braille script have also been made available for physically handicapped voters.

294 polling stations, 106 booths are sensitive in Kadi assembly by-election. To retain the Kadi assembly seat, bjp has fielded its Jan Sangh era veteran and party loyalist Rajendra Chavda. congress has also fielded senior leader and former mla Rameshbhai Chavda from Kadi assembly by giving him a ticket. Jagdish Chavda has been fielded in Kadi by Aam Aadmi Party. 106 booths are sensitive in Kadi assembly by-election.

In the 2022 Kadi assembly election, bjp had fielded its mla Karsan Solanki, who was re-elected. The seat fell vacant after his death in February. The seat fell vacant after he resigned from the AAP and mla post to join the bjp in 2023.
