According to reports, Superman has undergone some significant modifications while being edited, such as the removal of an All-Star Superman-inspired day-of-the-week structure.

Additionally, we've seen director James Gunn appear to have taken fan complaints into consideration by replacing a shot of the Man of Steel in flight with another, perhaps less controversial attempt. Now, information from a 30-minute video that was screened abroad seems to show us how Gunn will present his new DCU. Several attendees claim that the introduction will be Star Wars-inspired and intended to put the DCU in context.

Although some have characterized it as such, we don't anticipate a literal opening crawl lifted from Star Wars.  In any case, it appears that Gunn plans to use title cards (or something similar) to inform viewers that Superman takes place in a brand-new, superhero-populated reality.

Superman isn't set in the DCEU, which concluded with Orm consuming a cockroach in 2023's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the DC Studios co-CEO is keen to clarify.  Naturally, the fact that the same ensemble will be returning for Peacemaker season 2 this summer does not help that situation.

There's a chance that Gunn is making too much of an effort and that Superman will eventually feel too preoccupied and confused to have the desired effect.  Reviews of these 30-minute teasers have been generally positive, but it's difficult to judge when material like this is delivered without context.  Given that it was being screened for die-hard DC fans, that was probably to be expected.
