The victim's father-in-law, Bhoop Singh, the primary suspect, has been placed under three more days of police detention remand. According to a police official, he allegedly admitted to premeditating the crime when being questioned. After the victim was reported missing in april, her in-laws allegedly killed her and buried her outside of her house, hiding the body for almost two months.
The woman was originally from Shikohabad in the firozabad area of Uttar Pradesh. Two years ago, she married Arun Singh, who lived in roshan Nagar in Faridabad.
Murder was planned on april 15
According to a senior investigating officer cited by PTI, the murder of a 25-year-old lady in faridabad was allegedly plotted on april 15 and involved her mother-in-law and husband.
Bhoop Singh, the father-in-law, allegedly admitted during interrogation that his wife was taken away to attend a wedding in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, as part of the scheme.
According to reports, on april 21, her husband, Arun, put sleeping drugs in his sister Kajal's and wife's supper, putting them both into deep slumber in different rooms.
Police claim that late that night, Bhoop Singh went into the victim's room with the intention of strangling her with a dupatta. But he allegedly raped her without telling his wife or son about it before killing her.
Later, he invited Arun into the room, and the two of them covered the body with earth and bricks before disposing of it in a pit that had already been dug outside their house. It was explained to the neighbors that the pit was for a sewer connection.
The body was found buried behind a concrete slab that covered the "10-foot-deep pit" on june 21.
The pit was dug a few days prior to the incident, according to authorities. In the presence of Naib Tehsildar Jaswant Singh, the exhumation was conducted. At the Palla police station, Bhoop Singh, his wife Sonia, son Arun Singh, and daughter Kajal are the subjects of a formal complaint.
According to an earlier article by india Herald, Arun allegedly told the woman's family after the murder that she may have eloped, saying the main gate was open when he got up on april 22. The victim's family went to the faridabad police and asked them to question the father-in-law since they were suspicious of his narrative. After being questioned further, Bhoop Singh eventually admitted to the crime.
If their roles are verified, the husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law may also be arrested, according to the police. With charges under Sections 103(1) (murder), 3(5) (common intention), and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the original missing person's complaint has now been transformed into a murder case.
