The Central Drug Standards Regulatory Authority has recently issued a new warning alert on this issue. It has made key suggestions regarding 17 types of the most dangerous medicines.
It said that medicines used to control severe pain and anxiety disorders (tramadol, tapentadol, diazepam, oxycodone, fentanyl) should be crushed and the tablets should be flushed down the toilet. Apart from that, she warned that throwing them outside with the garbage can cause illness in many people. So, you need to be more vigilant about the medicines in your home. Expired drugs can lose their effectiveness and may even become harmful, potentially posing health risks.
