Sharad Pawar: 'Don't bow down to Trump's pressure, support Modi government', sharad pawar said on the US tariffs
NCP chief sharad pawar appealed to the Modi government for support in countering Trump's pressure policy. He described the US tariff decision as a strategy to pressure India. Pawar warned that the deteriorating relations with neighboring countries should not be ignored and emphasized the importance of improvement through diplomacy. He said that in the current situation, political differences should be forgotten and national interest should be given priority.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on saturday that the Modi government should be supported in the interest of the country to counter the pressure policy of US President Donald Trump. During a press conference in Nagpur, Pawar said that imposing a 50% tariff on indian goods is Trump's strategy to pressure, and at such a time, everyone should stand with the government.
Pawar said that imposing a 50 percent import duty on indian goods by the US is a well-planned pressure policy. He clarified that this decision can hurt India's trade and economy. Pawar believes that at such a time, rising above political differences, the support of the central government is necessary in the interest of the country.
The former Union minister also commented on Trump's tenure and his decision-making methods. Pawar said that even in his first term, trump used to make statements without thinking, and no one has control over his decisions. He said that Trump's statements and policies are often sudden and unexpected, which can affect international relations.
Pawar warned the Modi government that the growing sourness in relations with neighboring countries cannot be ignored. He said that pakistan is already against us, but countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and maldives are also not happy with us. He suggested that the government should work towards improving these relations by increasing diplomatic efforts.
Pawar said that in the current global situation, india should unite and face foreign pressures. He reiterated that the country's interest should be given top priority and political differences should be kept aside at this time. Pawar also added that the success of foreign policy depends on how we balance with neighbouring and global powers.
