Lokesh kanagaraj became one of the top South indian directors in a very short time. Even though his first film, ‘Managaram’, was a hit, he did not get a big name. But his career changed with the film ‘Khaithi’. That film was a big hit. He got the opportunity to do a big film like ‘Master’ with Vijay. That film was disappointing. But Lokesh’s fourth film, ‘Vikram’, became a sensational success and took him to the top at once. At a time when many senior directors in kollywood were down and the performance of the new generation of directors was minimal, lokesh gained an extraordinary craze.
His craze went somewhere when a new trend was started by linking ‘Khaithi’ to ‘Vikram’ and saying ‘Lokesh Cinematic Universe’. people started chanting LCU...LCU... even the telugu audience got excited about this and started giving lokesh a hype that was nowhere to be found. Lokesh’s next film, ‘Leo,’ made the audience’s heads spin. The promos looked great, but the film was a failure due to a lack of substance. It is noteworthy that lokesh copied a hollywood movie and made this film. Considering ‘Leo’ as a mistake, people again hyped Lokesh’s new film ‘Coolie’. The movie has created a buzz that no other movie has had in recent times. people who went to the movie with high expectations were shocked once again.
Regarding this movie, what lokesh and the entire team said about the characters in it has no real connection to what is actually in the movie. I don't understand what they really wanted to say with this story. Not a single character was developed properly. The less they talk about the character of Nag, who has given a lot of hype, the better. Things that don't fit the logic in the movie. There are many scenes that seem nonsensical. There is nothing in the scene. They just tried to make the audience laugh by building up with the music and background score. lokesh is just cutting interesting promos with the help of visuals and music, and increasing the hype among the audience. There is no substance in his movies. Except for khaidi and Vikram, he has not done anything great. Those who criticize lokesh as the most overrated director of this generation have found a big weapon in the form of 'Coolie'.
