No need to go to the bank to get KYC done again, the RBI governor clarified the situation.

If your address has changed, send your new address to the bank by email or registered mobile number. The bank will verify your new address by sending a letter within two months. It has been said by RBI that if you have KYC in one bank, then there is no need to do KYC again, you just have to share your CKYCR identifier number with the bank.


Reserve bank of india governor Shaktikanta Das has made it clear that now the customer does not need to visit the bank, again and again, to get reKYC done. RBI governor has said that you can do ReKYC online from home, there is no need to go to the branch for this. On the instructions of the RBI governor, Executive director Saurabh Sinha clarified that there is no need to visit the branch if you are getting your reKYC done. He said that if any of your KYC details have not changed. So you simply send an email or send a message to the bank from your registered mobile, then your reKYC will be done.

The bank will verify your new address by sending a letter within two months. Sinha said that even if you have KYC in one bank, there is no need to do KYC again. He said that there is a CKYCR. Under this, a CKYCR identifier number is given to the customer. If you share your identifier number with the bank, then the other bank will not need to do KYC again.


According to him, if the bank still asks to come to the bank to do KYC, then a complaint can be made to the RBI under the provisions of the banking Ombudsman and non-legal fast resolution. RBI officials said these things while talking to reporters on Thursday. On the issue of KYC, the RBI governor further said that due to a lack of information, such problems can happen in many places. This happens due to a lack of information, so people must be aware. Das said, we keep getting complaints from the Ombudsman and we also keep resolving these issues. 


He said that our instructions are clear and we keep repeating these instructions before the banks. We keep on internally telling the banks which receive more complaints to follow these guidelines.
