A 22-year-old female doctor was fatally stabbed at a hospital in Kottarakkara. The suspect, who was escorted there by police after getting into an altercation with his family, is believed to have been the victim. A doctor was tending to a wound on the man's leg when, according to a police officer from Kottarakkara, the man became agitated and assaulted everyone there with a scissor and scalpel.
The young doctor took the brunt of the assault, and the police officers who were with him were also hurt. The physician couldn't be saved despite being taken urgently to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. An employee of the Kottarakkara police station provided specifics of what happened, stating that the man had called the emergency line to get away from his family after an altercation with them.
He was hurt when police got on the scene, so they transported him to the Taluk hospital for a checkup and treatment. He had taken alcohol and was acting violently when we took him to the hospital. We are not permitted in the room when a patient's wound is being dressed, therefore he was alone himself with the doctor.The man clutching a scissor and a scalpel and shouting "I will kill you" stormed out of the room after the doctor, who was begging for help, the officer said, adding that it was unclear why the man became so violent and targeted the doctor.
He also attacked the on-scene police officers who attempted to stop him. The officer claimed that in addition to injuring the doctor, the man also damaged some hospital property.
