A gang rape case has come to light from Sangli district of Maharashtra, where a third year MBBS student was allegedly gangraped by two of her classmates and a friend. police gave this information on Friday. An officer said that all three accused, who are residents of Pune, Solapur and Sangli, have been arrested.
Gangraped after giving drugs
An officer said that they have been sent to police custody till May 27. The incident took place on May 18, when the student and the accused planned to go to the theater to watch a movie at around 10 pm. But before watching the movie, the accused took the student to a flat.
The officer said that in a drunken state, the accused gave the student a sedative drink, which made her feel dizzy and after this, all three allegedly raped her and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone. All three are said to be between twenty and twenty-two years of age.
The victim told everything to her parents
The victim is originally from Belgaum, Karnataka. After the incident, she told the whole thing to her parents, after which they lodged a complaint at the Vishrambagh police station. police said that a case has been registered against the accused under various sections including gang rape of the indian Penal Code. He said that the police is also analyzing the statement of the complainant and further investigation in the case is still going on.
