A Bangladeshi woman who fled poverty and hunger to india 33 years ago was arrested at mumbai airport when she was returning from Kuwait. The woman is accused of illegally entering india, obtaining an indian passport through fake documents and travelling to many countries including kuwait with the help of this passport for the last six years.

The woman had married Arvind Kumar Hiralal

The name of the arrested woman is Maria Khatun Mohammad Mansoor Ali, who came to india in 1992 at the age of just 15. After reaching mumbai, she married an indian citizen Arvind Kumar Hiralal and using his identity, declared herself an indian citizen and prepared fake documents.

Passport renewed twice

On the basis of these documents, Maria Khatun obtained a passport from the mumbai Passport office in 2016, which she had also renewed twice. In 2019, she went to kuwait for employment and was working there for the last six years.

On May 25, 2025, at around 2:30 am, she returned from kuwait to Mumbai. At Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj international Airport, immigration officer sameer Gaibu Pathan suspected irregularities in her documents. During interrogation, Maria Khatun admitted that she is originally a citizen of bangladesh and was living illegally in India.

The woman was handed over to Sahar Police

After interrogation and investigation, she was handed over to Sahar Police. Based on the complaint of the immigration officer, a case has been registered against her under the indian Passport Act and sections related to forgery. After the arrest, she is being further interrogated.
