Robert Allen, the proprietor of Amstel Barbershop, placed a folded American flag on top of the chair in the hopes that clients would spend a few moments to remember the fallen troops. Almost everyone in Middletown, according to Allen, knows a veteran or someone who is currently serving and is devastated by the Kabul assault.
